Logo design for a new scooter dealer. Flames weren’t my original idea, but the client mentioned flames somewhere along the way, so I decided to give it a go. Turned out pretty well. Client loves it. 3G stands for the 3 generations that run the place.

logo for ARCADA…
Recently I was asked to design a logo for the Abilene Regional Council on Alcohol & Drug Abuse. Whew… I was excited about working with a new client, but I knew the name itself would be challenging. I tried about half a dozen different variations on this one.. First attempt, I was trying to use larger and smaller words from the name to bring emphasis to the 3 most important words I thought people would need to see first. That didn’t really work out on this one.. there was just too much going on, so I decided to keep it simple and move away from the wordmark logo idea. I was afraid the final version was a bit childish looking, but the client believed it would work well for them, and they loved the colors.

Polk-Key City logo design…
This year I was able to start working on the logo for the Polk-Key City basketball tournament much earlier than usual. I was able to go back and forth with the client quite a bit to make sure they got exactly what they wanted. In the past we were accustomed to rushing through the design due various changing of responsibilities on the clients side of things. I was able to help them simplify their logo tremendously. Past logos, done by freelance designers or student designers, were very complicated and difficult to reproduce. The t-shirts they passed out ended up having text only, which isn’t very good for branding. Next on the list… maybe I can get them to go with the same logo every year. PKC 2008 logo
